LSiM 702’s
I’m running a 5.1 setup right now using 703’s as my rears. I don’t have any plans of doing 7.1 but wonder if it would be worthwhile to get the 702’s while they are still available and on sale. Anyone used both as rears and feel the 702’s would be a better surround speaker?

I don't think the rears are quite as important, I was using Monitor 60 and 70 for rears but I use 702 for the sides and they are really nice.

I guess I really need to decide what my long term plans are. I would hate to pass on the 702’s and find myself a year or two down the road wishing I had jumped on them for $600. My mains are 705’s.

I’ve read that as well which is making me consider these more seriously than I have in the past.

I have 702 as my surrounds and I really like them. I can't comment as to how much better, if any, they would sound, but if you have your surrounds wall mounted I'm confident they would look much better.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden

At that price, I think you should get 4

They will take up less space in the room than the 703s so that is a good thing, but the wall mounted 702s do not fire out perpendicular to the wall, but a ~45°, so think about the placement in the room. If they are either behind (5.1) or ahead (7.1) of the MLP they work well.SONY VPL-VW385ES, Da-Lite 92" 0.9 HD progressive 16x9 screen, Apple TV 4K, Oppo UDP 203, Anthem AVM 60, D-Sonic 4000 (800x3, 400x4) for bed layer, 2 Crown XLS 1002 (225x4) for Atmos; Speakers: Polk LSiM 705s, 703 front, 4 702F/X surround, 4 Polk TL3 (Atmos), Velodyne DD15 Subwoofer.
