Used Gear Sales

Why cant flippers just state what they are selling, the condition, and price and be done with it. On numerous sites, including one very close to home, they feel obligated to give some type of mini review and supposedly how many people owned the item previously, the number of pets in the house, smoking vs. non smoking, religious affiliation, and on and on....none of which can be verified! While most people here are trustworthy...one gets weary of sifting through all the extra information. That is all.

Probably because if they are flippers it means they have bought and sold a lot of gear. They have learned that it is best to provide any and all detail in the description otherwise they will be bombarded with incessant questions on all the items you mentioned.

Agree with @Polkitup2 always good to have as much provenance for an item. I like when sellers are forthcoming with info if it's not fluff. But yeah, I could do without the stuff that's obvious sales hype.
I do like to know the history on gear, if possible. I like to try to get a sense of some sort of whether the stuff's been kicked down the skreet, or whether it's had relatively few, mature and careful owners.
If details important to me aren't listed, that's fine too as long as seller's open and forthcoming with answers and details during pre-sales discussions. If he treats it like a hassle, I typically pass. I don't like dealing with ornery dbs.
Side note - I can't understand how some gear sustains the damage it does sometimes. Like subs, for example. Some of those things look wrecked!Post edited by msg onI disabled signatures. -

I like to ask, if you were a tree what kind of tree would you be? Favorite colour and zodiac sign are good to know too.

I'd rather have too much info than not enough........speakers for sale $50 call 867-5309.

I bet this isn't too much info for you -

Could be worse. I've seen similar ads that don't even include a picture. A marketing genius they are not.

Hopefully it includes the chair- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I vaguely recall an ad with gear staged in someone's bathroom...or was that a Polkfarmboy post....not sure.
