Are Polk M3 series 2 speakers designed to be used outdoors?

I have always thought that the M3s were an outdoor speaker. I know that I have seen them outside, but are they designed to be outside?

I have found some reference to them as 'multi application' but that is vague.

Any info/ literature is appreciated.
