Hi,

Just wondering if any Polk owners has or had a Sony WEGA
400/450 xbr 36"? I'm almost ready to pick one up next month after saving for the past 10yrs to replace my 27" Sony trinitron that I purchased back in 1990. How is the reliability factor.....the Sony that I currently own is still working fine and was made in Japan but I believe the new models are assembled in Mexico.

Quality control?

dc.

Well, i bought a HDTV 32" Panasonic TAU TV back in september. I can tell you that i made a lot of research to find what i was looking for.
The TAU (forget about the GAOO's) outperforms the Trinitron XBR is every category. Sure, it might be a little more expensive but it is worth it. I'M not saying that the XBR isnt good, they both look great but you'll get more out of the TAU. But you'll be able to get a good deal, get the stand with it. This sucker weights 160 lbs !

Had a 36" WEGA, very good tv.
I traded up to a 55"mitsubishi rear projection, because I wanted a widescreen television.
No complaints towards the Sony, very clean/clear picture, excepting it's massive weight. 200+ lbs.
