Hi guys,
I came across this one unit that has a Peerless woofer and tweeter in a white triangular housing (Star Wars looking) What the heck is it? I'm not sure if I should keep it, sell it, donate it, or just throw it. It actually looks like Peerless' attempt to replicate the Triangle 1180. Lol. Is this a dyi that I hear about?
Any help will help.
Thanks,

PS: I haven't fired it up yet.

That's not like any Polk crossover design I've ever seen. I think the only thing that speaker has in common with Polk is the tweeter itself. Also, Polk tended to put a small hole at the apex of the tweeter dome, it was an in house mod.

That is not polk at all Arty

I know, Ivan. Never said it was.

Your XO comment made me wonder

I can see that. Still makes me wonder how they sound regardless.

Looks neat, tweeter route definitely performed by hand versus cnc- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Let me show you the back. This is why I had to open it up. Total misleading info on the back. The tweeter is sealed tight and I don't want to break that seal. So I'm gonna take a picture with my hand inside.

Did you understand what I meant about the Pyramid 1180?

Nope.
That shape in all honesty is not unusual. -
I would try to salvage the Moretite.

As it says on the speaker, it's a Delcoid LM-1 satellite speaker. They were made in the '80s by a guy named Jackson, later of Jackson Loudspeakers. They were an esoteric, fairly high end set of speakers that sold in 1989 for about $1300 a pair. I have a set myself with the matching subwoofer. In good running order, they sound fantastic. Today you'd have to spend around $4k to get something as good. Too bad you have only 1.
