PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell Pre/Dac

This Pre/Dac is in excellent like new condition. Only a year old and I have all the packaging, manual, remote, and power cord. It has received some high praises right here on the Polk forum as well as other sites. Sounds great, I'm just looking to try some other pieces that I've purchased for a while.

Located in MD between Baltimore and Philadelphia but I am willing to ship.

I am extremely happy with my Stellar gain cell dac/preamp. Excellent build quality, versatile, and lots of meat on the bone. Gain cell volume control is the shizzle.

I love mine and I'm only using it's preamp functionality. Haven't even delved into the DAC. Even acting only as a preamp, it's worth the asking price.

Fantastic performance and the best implementation of a volume control that I've personally experienced.

Bump for this fine piece of kit. This is the one you want - (3) analog inputs, (5) digital inputs, fully-balanced or unbalanced output options, excellent execution of on-board DAC, and has anyone mentioned the kick-arse volume control???

I wish Drew could have given his DAC some time as I would like to hear his thoughts on it, but, I know I love my Direct Stream DAC. Under a grand for a good pre and DAC is hard to beat.

I feel like I'm talking myself in to buying it.

FWIW, to date, this has been my favorite preamp, and it won't be going anywhere for a very long time. The fact that it also has a great DAC is just the cherry on top.

I'm conflicted about this piece. I currently have the PerfectWave DAC, so this would be a pre only for me. I'd love to check one out and see what is all about, however, I'm really wanting the BHK pre. Having said that, I'm very happy with my Joule. Considering I just put $3k in upgrades/updates/mods in to it about a year ago I'm questioning if I could get remotely close to recouping that if I liked the BHK better.

My thoughts are to pass on this and apply that money to the BHK. I'm also thinking this is as smoking deal and would probably have about this level of value several years down road.

I had the same concern my Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ is a fine DAC. I then started toying with the idea the of using I2S digital input to connect my UDP 203 to the DAC in the PSA SGCD.

That said, please someone get this. It has been the starting block of my current system and I just got back for Axpona only more happy with it. And that’s after hearing all those bad azz systems.

Not to derail, but would love to hear your thoughts if you get that up and running.

The PS Audio Direct Stream Memory player has those connections and I currently have the player and DAC connected via WW platinum hdmi. The BHK would allow for that connection dac to pre where the Joule does not. That's a plus 1.

The other consideration is, at this price if it didn't pan out for you--you could re-sell for minimal loss. Just saying.
