DSW Pro 660 vs 2 x HT-12

This is just for a bedroom system, but the bedroom is a 900sq foot loft, and the system is my current primary HT until a real one gets built in the basement.
Current speakers is an Energy Take LCR/Sat 5.1 system with an Energy 8.3 sub. The Takes actually sound pretty darn good for their size, and the poor little sub really tries its best to shake things, but it was all originally bought for a 12x16 bedroom and just doesn’t fill this bigger space as pleasingly.
I can currently get the Polk line at a very good price, and was going to upgrade to Signature speakers (S55 or S60 for front, S30 center, S10 or S15 for rear) but I’m a bit lost on the sub.
The DSW Pro 660 seems pretty decent for the price (and I struggle to spend big bucks on a bedroom system), but how would it’s performance compare to the HT-12 or even dual HT-10 or HT-12? Wife prefers the “matchy matchy” look of the HT subs with the Signatures, but good bass is still more important to us both.
Would love some insight!

Look at SVS subs, HSU, for better subs. Subs don't have to match speakers since no voices come out of them. A black sub will match just about any speaker since the grills are usually black.HT SYSTEM-

Agree with the venerable @tonyb. For the same money get either an HSU VTF-2 mk5 or and SVS PB or SB2000 (the latter if space is an issue). Any of those subs will crush even two HT-12s.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

OK, but the PB2000/SB2000 are roughly double my cost of 2 x HT12. I don’t even know if I can buy the HSU in Canada, but the US price is still more than double 660s. I know “a good sub is a good sub”, but there’s something to be said for a deal too, lol!

Okay sorry didn’t catch that part. Unless you have some really gnarly room nodes, one good sub is better than two okay subs. But I don’t k ow who much better the dsw pro is...but I would guess it’s the superior sub.
If you are willing to go used, the older mirage BPS subs are excellent and you should be able to find one up there...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Heh. So my old Energy 8” is rated down to 27Hz, and the HTS-12 down to.... just 28Hz? Hmmm. At least the 660 goes to 25Hz, but I note that the Energy 12” in my series went to 19Hz, and so does the mentioned SB2000. Definitely gives me pause.
I have a Velodyne DD-15 in another room rated to 15hz, so I does likes me bass... -
How low it actually goes is going to be room dependent.....for any sub.HT SYSTEM-

Check CAM or Kijiji. I found my SVS on Kijiji.
