Thanks Cody, glad to be here.

Both sets of speakers are going strong, and sound very nice. The MM's have been in my car for a couple of years now. I had them in my closet for a while before I put them in. That was until one of my rear speakers blew out. The DB's I bought a few years ago as well (to replace my front speakers when they eventully bit the dust) l, but like tha MM's they also collected dust in the closet. I had some Kicker Resolutions (R5) in the front for many years that started dying on me recently (midrange could not quite handle the strong vocals anymore) and I put in my DB's in there. I have to say that I am very happy with my current setup.

Why are you so stunned dude? I've been posting here for over a year and you already know I have nothing but old dB's in my truck.

Welcome to the forum! Got a nickname? 1996blackmax is a bit long.

Cody: Yes, and I absolutely LOVE them.
Especially b/c they are old enough not to have that icky baby blue DB logo on the cone... just the white dynamic balance going around in a circle. :D

Of course if anyone here has any old DB components to spare... I need to re-do My whole car ;)

I wasn't bashing his name or being hippoctirical about it.

Actually I do drive a 1996 black Nissan Maxima. I transfered my system from my 92 Maxima to this car about a month after I bought it. Pretty swift car for being a grocery hauler. I have done quite a few suspension/handling mods, and a little under the hood stuff to it too :) . Nothing like going up to the mountains listening to some tunes and driving through the twisty roads.

    How is it in Cal?
I haven't been that far west ever. I have seen TX to OK to TN and all east, south, and north of that, but not out west.

California is a nice place to live. You have a variety of different landscapes and climates. Here in San Diego I can enjoy the beach during the summer, and in winter drive 35 minutes up to the mountains and take my little ones to play in the snow. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, still miss it, might move back up there in a couple of years. San Francisco has a cooler climate and has many cloudy days, but I actually like that.

i suppose that makes up for it then... i am about 5 miles away from the beach too, it just happens to be the beach of lake erie (in case you didn't know, erie has been the dirtiest great lake for like the last 30 years; there's dead fish and stuff all over the beach, it's great fun; i refuse to touch the water, and there's a legal limit on how much erie fish you can eat in a month...)

Yeah, even up here in houston we get lots of the humidity rolling up from the gulf. It can be really unpleasant sometimes. I just moved back to TX from Maryland last June. MD is quite possible the largest collection of laws, paperwork, government, and lawyers I've ever seen. The weather up there is mostly gray... It will rain for like a week straight.
I like TX for the most part for the weather, even though it's hot as a dutch oven in a bonfire. People are much nicer here from what I've seen up north. Sure there're some nice people northwise, but it's rare (no offense to anyone). I had a friend from CA in MD, and he moved to CO just after I did... says "Man, people just get mean the more east you go." I guess it's the busy lifestyle. -- Me.. I'm just a laid back kinda person.. no northern bustle life for me :)
    I'll stop rembling for now...

i know what you mean :D. it works the other way too... everyone up here always wonders what the hell you're all smiling at...

btw, if you didn't know, southerners are like ten times more likely to smile in a given situation than northerners; this often leads southerners to ask us what's wrong... :p. this was a big study a few years ago...

i prefer a completely blank face for the same reason; yours is a "im-crazy-what-you-wanna-do-bout-it" smile, mine's a "you-mess-with-me-and-die" look. yes?

btw, if this seems a little strange, i'm running on approximately zero sleep right now.
