Anyone into 45s

If so....drop me a PM. Most seem to have little value and I am an impatient person. But you never know....somone may still collect them.

Funny you bring that up about 45's. I was just talking to a friend last night whose brother has a collection of 2000 of them.

His brother is about 70 and has very weak lungs so, although he loves the collection, he is thinking of selling them. I warned my friend they probably aren't worth that much, cuz who wants to bother with 45's.

He checked a price guide on them and came up with a value of about $15,000. The best one is a supposedly rare Beatles Capital pressing from Canada.

I hope he decides to keep them because he's going to be very disappointed in what he gets for them, imo.

There seems to be little interest for them on Ebay. I did come across a Jimi Hendrix promo copy of All Along the Watchtower which has some value, but not sure where to go to sell the others. In open to ideas

There are valuable ones and value-less ones; like every thing else.

There are -- umm -- a few around here, mostly from my father's days in radio (late 1950s). Some of the best ones are gone for a variety of reasons. I have a long-term "plan" to go through them properly some day.

'course, I keep saying that about the long-players here, too...

    I almost went there.
That stuff was popular with us when we were young and poor, in college (the drinking age in those days was 18)... it was awful, but it was cheap, and its alcohol content was fit for purpose.

Oh, I went there often in my youth. Much wiser with less headaches, wouldn't touch it nowadays. Going to crack a Blue Moon.

Just realized that there are also the other kind of 45s -- some of those are pretty collectible... and all of them, AFAIK, sound good. B)

I prefer the Olde English Reserve thank you. Of course when the primo Colt 45 has been depleted.
