Speaker Feet/Spikes? Riser? Rti A9 and Naughty dog!

Hello all! I have a very odd request. My girlfriend's Shi Tzu likes to pee on my Polk RTI A9's and I have resorted to basically putting a baby fence around my entertainment center to keep the dog away. It's a tiny dog, so if I could somehow raise my speakers 2-3" off the ground the speakers would be fine.

Does anyone have experience with some type of speaker spikes/feet for these speakers to raise them a few inches of the ground? I found a speaker spike solution the other day that may work but it was almost $400 for two speakers (a little excessive). I am open to suggestions, short of doing anything the dog, since he is adorable, he just lacks appreciation for fine speakers! And the baby fence looks kind of ridiculous, although it serves a purpose.

Much appreciated in advance! Thanks!

The tallest spikes I am aware of are the Adona Multi-Element Cones, but their diameter is much larger than the outrigger on the speakers, so would look a bit odd. However, they are top notch spikes and worth every penny.

Aw man I feel your pain! My Yorkie did the same on my RT1000i’s at the old house. De-laminated the veneer on the base. Bad dog!

Take a look at Auralex speaker isolation pads. I got some a few years ago for my Polk SDA 2BTL speakers when we had some water drip from an upstairs apartment and get a bit of water under one of the speakers (luckily no damage). I basically got them to protect my speakers and raise them off the floor but it also helps tighten up the base and reduce vibrations (their main purpose). I am not sure of the size of your Rti A9s but the Auralex come in different shapes and sizes.

The Auralex isolation pads help tighten up the "bass" (not "base," lol)...I guess the edit function does not work on posts anymore.

I'd be trying to stop the little guy from peeing on the speakers rather than moving them out of his range. Perhaps have him fixed or take him to the vet to see if there's another issue he may have?

You could always buy some wood at lowes, cut it out into a plate slightly larger than the speakers, then install spikes on that board, and put your speakers on top.

That way you can go with whatever spikes your budget can afford.

Sounds like a dog problem, not a speaker problem. I'd be finding a solution to the peeing indoors issue, stat.
