Any suggestions about what amp to purchase for Polk rti12s?

Looking to drive my rti12s along with a new avr. I was thinking the denon 3500h. Any advice? I'm just getting back into the audio game. Thanks in advance.. .P.S. trying to stay under $1000 for an amp.

If your speakers are shorting out somehow, you'll damage your new to you new amp.

Are any wires touching each other at the speaker hook-up posts? That'll kill any amp you hook up to them.

No I have all clips. Everything is right and secure. Very strange.
