in Speakers
Hello
Here are some pictures of my home theater
The TV is on its legs, but will be attached to the wall, and my CSiA4 will go on top the cabinet. The 2 main speakers are RTiA5
For now, I do not have any surround. As you can see, the couch is against the back wall
1) What surround speakers would you recommend? I would like to have them somehow "discreet" (small). But I can't have them in-wall though
2) What height should they be placed, and how far on the sides? I believe they should be facing the hearing position?
3) I would like to enjoy Atmos, but don't want to install in ceiling speakers. I thought about front height, such as the Polk Monitor M3 II, firing toward the couch
Or should I place them just above the couch, in the corner wall/ceiling?
Are the M3 II good enough for that purpose (regardless of the placement) or should I look for something better (but again, don't want to go too big)
FYI, I will probably go with the Denon X3400H..........

Some bipole dipoles above your end tables.

any recommendation? On the small size side?
And which one would be best in my setup: bipole or dipole?RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

I would get the ones from the Rti series. I am not familiar with any others. If they are only dor movies I don't think you have to be too picky. So decent unobtrusive speakers will get the job done.

yes, only for movies.....RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

The RT and RTi are switchable between bi and di-pole, so you can A/B to see which fits best for your situation.

A pair of these above the end tables https://www.polkaudio.com/products/fxia4
Or RTi-A1 in the corners facing the couch https://www.polkaudio.com/products/rtia1
For ATMOS Speakers, either the ceiling bounce type or mount some bookies at the top of the wall. There is also the SVS elevation speakershttps://www.svsound.com/collections/prime-series/products/prime-elevation
Don't see a sub in the mix. Any HSU http://hsuresearch.com or SVS /https://www.svsound.com/pages/subwoofers will do great
Here is how I have my surrounds
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Would RTiA1 be well placed on the top of the shelf (red spot)?
It would be facing the couch, but would it need to be slightly angled down?
Or is it definitely too high?

Since the couch is against the rear wall, a bipole/dipole mounted on the rear wall is best.

OK......
I will post additional pictures of the whole room tonight
I was also thinking about the Pioneer surround dolby atmos speakers:
https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionspebs73lr/pioneer-elite-sp-ebs73-lr-dolby-atmos-speakers-by-andrew-jones-black-pair/1.html
Would these be a good choice rather than installing surround speaker (RTiA1 or bipole/dipole) + Front height?
What can I expect in terms of Atmos atmosphere with these Pioneer speakers installed on the end tables, and the upfiring atmos effect bouncing on the ceiling just above the couch?RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

I can't really install in-ceiling speakers for Atmos effect, nor side speakers. So I guess I will try to run Atmos with front height speakers, using Polk OWM3 located above the RTiA5 (red spots) and angled down toward the couch.....

I don't know much about ATMOS®, but you might get a better result if you mounted those lower and pointed them upwards to reflect off the ceiling. -
I've read mixed reviews about up-firing atmos speakers........Maybe I could try to just put them on the top of the towers and see how it goes?RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

you could just buy a surround bar and be done with it.

I was buggin' you. With all your placement issues, I thought as a joke I'd simplify your life by suggesting a surround bar. -

Hey, I thought about a sound bar....Since I need to buy a new receiver and some speakers, maybe a good atmos soundbar could do it....but is there such thing than a good atmos soundbar?RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

I had a 6.1.2 (rear center channel) atmos setup at my last house, and I really enjoyed it. But I would MUCH rather have a really good 2 channel setup than a crappy faux surround setup...heck, I would rather have a good 2 channel setup than a HTIB atmos surround setup...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Using RTI A1’s as front height. Works well.
-
I'm sure RTiA1 would sound nice, but they are "bulkier" than the OWM3......Actually, i'm trying to find small speakers that would sound nice (or at least not too bad) for front height.....Any recommendations?RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

Ever considered in wall speakers?
Not that there’s anything wrong with OWM speakers. Was thinking of putting a pair on my ceiling. -

Def tech promonitors are really nice sounding for the money: they are smooth and sound a lot bigger than they are.

Yes, those would probably be fine for atmos. These are the next size up and sound really big for their size...
