Hey all, I think I'm going to sell the Yamaha. It's a great receiver, with plenty of power, and a huge number of inputs, but I really want an HK. To me, the sound is cleaner, and clearer, and it just seems to go better with Polks than the Yamaha. I've been listening to a couple of HK receivers at Circuit City, and the sound is awesome. I've got everything for the Yamaha except the manual, which you can easily download off of their site. I'll even include some cables/wires, and I may even throw in a DVD, if anyone is interested. Thanks.
Thomas

-

-
For $410 shipped, I'll include a couple optical cables, an s video cable, component, some speaker wire, even a DVD. Someone, please help me out here. I really want a HK.

I'm looking to either get the 325 or the 525, direct from Harman. -
they have considerable less wpc compared to yamaha... is there any point to swap?
-
Power ratings mean little to me. I've listened to both HK's at Circuit City, driving polk speakers, and they both sound just as loud as the Yamaha. The HK's sound warmer to me, and smoother...
-
I agree with you Thomas, I just made the switch from Yammie to HK and find the sound to be more full, if you will. And the bass management of my 525 is really cool.
Don't forget to check your local CC from time to time. I found mine there, open box with all accessories and full warranty, 400 clams.
Woodysystem 1:
Athena: AS-F1 mains, AS-C1 center, AS-B1 surrounds, AS-P400 sub, Yammie RXV-730, Rotel RB-976 driving front stage, Samsung BD3600 Blue Ray, Denon DVD2900 for sacd/cd , jbl n24awII on the deck, samsung 40" 1080p lcd
system 2:
XBox 360 Spherex 5.1 system, HK DVD38, Phillips CDC 926 CD changer, Phillips 32" LCD
2 channel
NAD 1600 pre, NAD 2400 THX amp, Phillips CDC 926, Linn extra speaks, crappy TT -
And I agree with you, as well, Woody. $400 is a great deal. Now if I can only find someone who will take the Yamaha off my hands....
-
Any takers at $380 shipped???
-
If anyone is interested at all, please let me know. Price is negotitable...
-
I really really really wish I didnt already buy this Pio receiver a few months ago...I'd jump on this deal so fast skeezer wouldnt know what hit him.
-
Thanks, rnp. Which Pioneer did you get?
-
only a VSX-D812K..
-
You still got a great receiver
-
$355 anyone? Hello? Is this thing on? Test test...
-
What features does this have over the pioneer? My cousin is looking into getting a low end receiver and I might just sell him mine.
What did you not like about its sound with the polks? Right now I have 4 RTi38s and hope to have a CSi40 soon. -
Dang, nevermind, my cousin already got a cheap receiver....
Well bump anyways? -
Hey. I think the sound is very detailed, which is good, but it's a little too bright. Like one guy said on another thread, is that the sound gets fatiguing, and I can't agree more. The HK is warmer, richer, and some of the detail is a little more subdued, but it's a tradeoff that doesn't bother me.
