    Good price. Been thinking about getting back into DIY and building this kit as a start. But my headphones were low impedance. Karma’d the Schiit amp and sold the headphones here. So what headphones are a good match for the Crack?

    Sennheiser 600, 650's... Massdrop had the Senn 6xx's and heck...another set also for good pricing.

    Anything above 200 ohm.

    I figure by some miracle of entropy, it will be completed if I wait long enough to open it.

    Thanks Aaron--I'm willing and (I believe able); I first was thinking about if I wanted to do more than stock build at first (better volume pot, e.g.) and that slowed me down. I think I'd rather go mild at first (wild later?) so perhaps I'll heat up the iron over Spring Break coming up...

    Better volume pot is a good idea and not difficult nor expensive (unless you choose to make it expensive).

    BH crew always recommends building stock, then going crazy. It's really not a bad idea.

    When you get to your crazy stage let me know - I've got some GREAT! ideas.

    And, yes, I did order one. I have plans...

    Yep...wid da spudballer.

    Speedball allows use of more tube variants without modification to other parts. Doesn't mean you can go crazy but it opens up the options a bit.

    ...off topic (but it feels like just you and me in here at the moment), but I just picked up a Little Dot Mk ii to play with until I get to building.

    My "unofficial" hp amp collection is getting laughably large--Schitt Asgard and Vali 2; LD MKii, a little Fiio DAC/amp thingy... Might have the beginnings of a problem. (Not as big as *your* problem, but...)

    I like the Senn 600's (300 ohm) and (my fave) Beyer DT-990 (600 ohm; "Premium", I think?). I never upgraded anything and still use the stock tubes. Never felt the need or desire to change anything. Love the thing even though I don't use it too frequently.
