Parts Express tries, yet again, to capture some of that market.

Let's see:

gratuitous use of tubes? check. (two small-signal triodes, no really gratuitous power output tubes, thankfully)
hybrid? check.
goofy 'tube cages'? check.
'transformer bump' that may or may not enclose a transformer? check.
Bluetooth? check.
Ok, Jerry, we're ready to sell these in Brooklyn!

;)

Actually, to this thing's credit, it has two inputs and a line-level subwoofer output.
EDIT: oh, and a headphone jack, albeit on the back panel.

I actually kinda dig the tube "cages".

Guess I need to go stand in the corner for a while and think about what I have said.

OK, apparently this thing uses "6F1" tubes.

I am pretty much striking out on info on the (Chinese, presumably) 6F1 tube type.
    I am guessing it's a pentode(?!?)

Anyone know anything about the "6F1"?

    Just curious ;)

Just for grins I'd like to hear one of those things on my khorns as they've got enough power for a decent evaluation. I'm not quite curious enough to justify buying one though.

I suspect that the K-horns would quickly reveal the amp's shortcomings.

That Chinese 6F1 isn't the same tube as the western 6F1. The Chinese one is, I'm guessin', a pentode something like the one used in those thirty-one dolla preamps that some folks have gone nutso over.

Ah gotcha! Weird that they give it the same designation.

Again -- the TDSL link is for a "western" 6F1, not the miniature tube found in the titular amplifier :p

Some people charge $60 for the tubes I have in it currently (Western Electric 403B) but I only paid $7.99 plus shipping. Glad I pass the Doc Hardy test of frugality. ;)

Also my apologies on the wild goose chase of a link, when I found that info posted someone referred to it as the Chinese Valves.
