That's the good news, now here's the bad...

I have no "real" reason to explain my purchasing new speakers ... yet I have done just that. I've already a full line-up of Polks (fronts, center, surrounds); still, after having read about these bookshelf speakers on this forum, as well as others, I've gone and bought them. What will I do with them? I don't know, but I've got them nonetheless.

As much as I'm disturbed by this measure of recklessness, and I am, it's far worse than that. It's the way in which I went about it. The way that I stalked them, hiding behind this keyboard and monitor, staring at them like a soon to be jailed peeping tom. I'm sickened by who I have become. I'm sickened by the fact that it's just the beginning.

i feel your pain, 3 weeks after upgrading to my rt800i's, i got not only 35i's, but 25i's to upgrade my rear surrounds. after seeing trappedunderices 2000/55 mains combo, i am thinking of getting f/x500i's to replace the 35i's and move them up front to pair with my 800i's. not that this is a nessecity at all, just that polk has made me a speaker buying maniac.... must purchase....

BTW TrappedUnderIce... i set up the 35i's w/ the 800i's just for a trial run... man pairing those is a sweet set-up. the 35i's really add to the hi and midrange of the speakers. they add clarity and transparency to the 800 sound pouding powerful output... i can just imagine how those 2000/55's sound... :D

Juice... Ok..so I'm not crazy like I thought...:)
I was realy surprised at how much detail mixing them can bring! Some may say its overkill (i do when I look at my wallet).. but its music to my ears.
I had almost instead of getting the 55is' gone with the 35's and pick up a sub for my rears... but now..i'm glade I got the 55's since you cant get them new any more...

    oh well...

why are the 55i's getting scarce? I have not heard this. Not that i need any more Polk speakers.. what would I do with them anyway? :)

seriously, are they being replaced with another speaker?

Where would one go on the web to see pictures of trappedunderices setup?

How are you guys using two sets of mains?

Are you just using the A and B channels?

If so are you dropping the ohm's to 4?

    Does this affect preformance?
