Astronomical prices!
I started buying football and basketball cards when there was only a quarterly price guide for them. Late '80s. I had 18 Montana rookie cards, 6 Jerry Rice rookies, Jordan's second year cards and his rookie stickers, and a double set of 1980/81 basketball cards in mint, all of which I got dirt cheap.
They were all sold off over time. Wish I had some of them and my Marvel comics collection back.

Those bids were a joke and the listing was probably pulled by Ebay. No one will really pay a half million on a card that was graded as altered and might not even be real. -
