I'm not sure how long this has been out, but is anyone planning to get/has bought the superbit version of Spider-Man? Any thoughts? I never bought the DVD when it first came out, so, I may get the Superbit instead.

i haven't seen or heard that Spiderman was going to be released on superbit DVD.

super bit is higher quality mastered DVD than your regular DVD. There is usually a DD and DTS sound track on the disc. There are no extras on the DVD. They instead use the space usually reserved for the extras to up the picture quality of the movie. It's a higher resolution picture than your regular DVD's. some people say that they can't see any difference.. other people say they can see a difference.

a good superbit movie to check out is The Fifth Element. I noticed better picture quality on the superbit version over the regular release one. Remember the increase in picture quality is usually pretty small. you have to look real close to notice any difference. If you have an older TV, you may not notice any difference at all.

Superbit is only sold by Columbia/Tristar. They say that it is a higher quality DVD. It is, and it has bit rate of about 8-10mb. Other DVD's not produced by Columbia/Tristar can have the same bit rate but since they are not Columbia/Tristar movies they are not called superbit, but in fact hey are they same quality (ex. Shrek). To check this some DVD players have the ability to show the bit rate. Also Superbit titles all have a DTS audio track compared to the standard releases that many times only have Dolby Digital audio. Just a little info.
