o.k. Powered on but needed a fuse. (this was key :D )
    It is unsurprisingly noisey.

I plugged in an old TT as the RCA jacks fit.
No gain. It does make some music when cranked up.

After findings some smaller RCA ends, I plugged in
a tuner. 20 Watts of SS power! (and a lot of noise)

Grommes made some nice vacuum tube amplifiers -- this little fellow looks like a small sound reinforcement amp of some sort.

mmm, Ducati. It says 4/59 on it so we can guess turn of the decade.

It is not impossible but being all transistor would suggest its a few years newer than that. Transistors really became a big thing in audio in the early 1960s.

A really good place to look for info on this (although it will require a certain amount of dedication, patience, and brute force are the technical resources (industry catalogs, etc.) at https://www.americanradiohistory.com/

    I will -- ahem -- peruse a wee bit myself :)

ummm, errrm, ahh -- they're still around (or at least there is still a website - I didn't see any content newer than 2004, though!); might want to drop 'em a line or give 'em a call.

A Mid-Century Modern doorstop, thank you very much.
With optional cover screen, I might add.

It's a PA or paging amp. Use caution when hooking up speakers to this as it means 70v! We've got similar in our plant and you can run wire a very very long way and with the proper speakers get a lot of volume.

Thanks All. My Altecs can do 70v though I had never tried them that way.
Paging Amp seems to be the winner! Door stop too!!

Not surprisingly, at low volumes it sounds like an old transistor radio.
Give some juice and it sounds o.k.

No work for the next couple of days so time to tackle some more of these
    little projects. o:)

Makes sense with the mic input. SIHAB, time to put a vintage whole-house comm system in? :p
