Who else here smoke?

Who else on here like to smoke meat? Aside from audio a favorite pass time of mine is cooking. Barely started smoking meat and is trying out my first brisket tonight. Wish me luck! chv54xw7fcxb.jpg

I think most of the smoking here is done with something other than hickory, and would likely not make for good eating. (Perhaps in brownies or cookies)

I have a Masterbuilt that works great but I don't use it anymore cause I have no crowd to cook for.

Yep I also used to love to BBQ. My favorite wood the use was Cherry. My second favorite was mesquite. I like @afterburnt do not have enough folks to cook for anymore. Every once in a while I'll do a pork shoulder and make some pulled pork sandwiches for myself. but other than that I mostly grill a steak or some fish for myself. The days of a big rack of ribs or a big brisket are gone for me.

The temperature is below zero Fahrenheit here so liquid smoke it is for now.

I started off with a Masterbuilt Propane smoker then got a Pitboss pellet grill. A lot easier then the propane and the meat turn out great too.

I have a big family and most holiday it it spent here so I'm always cooking for a big crowd. Pull pork will be my next try and I'll try it with some cherry flavored pellet. Thanks.

I've been known to smoke things other than cigars.
    I use a Weber kettle with a temp control & a Slow n' Sear.

I love vegetarians.... just means more meat for me!

I also love the vegans that wear leather shoes, drive cars with full leather interiors, purses and other products made from animals. I laugh at the hypocrisy.... :p

  • I really enjoy BBQ and smoking. Currently using a Kamado Joe Classic II, but have used many other methods in the past. I'd guess I've smoked well over 100 pork shoulders, in addition to many briskets and ribs.

Smoked a 9lb Boston butt yesterday. Actually started it at 3am the night before. 14 hours. Had to Texas crutch it about 11 hours in.

Used apple wood for a pretty mild smoke. Turned out great.

Using a Weber Smokey Mountain. Only my 4th time using it as it’s a bit of a pain to set up, but just like vinyl...I appreciate the inconvenience and the process..lol...
