New pb2+ Woot!!

Hello,

I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for passing on your knowledge and expierience to those of us who know next to nothing about audio equipment but love good HT sound. I love internet forums.

I received my PB2+ on Tuesday and managed to push it up a flight of carpeted stairs by myself. When I got to the top I noticed that it had rubber feet on the bottom... It is hard to prepare yourself for how big this monster is. My last sub was a Polk 202 soon to be donated to a friend.

After getting into place and doing a little calibration with the Avia disc I promply started running through movies and music CDs. The sound is just awsome on music and even at a low/medium volume am getting tons of smooth and tight, great sounding bass. It really blends great with my mains and makes the music sound so much more full.

Movies are spectacular too. Even though the room is shaking I feel like the sub is barlely breaking a sweat with the gain set below the half way position. On Master and Commander I thought I felt a connon ball blow past me. Amazing..

Next step after breaking it in is to really push it to see what it can do and get my neighbors to call the cops..

Well, it's late.. Thanks again.

Will

First off Will, welcome to the forum. As your pb2+ breaks in, you'll find you will be watching all your favorite DVD's and listening to all your favorite CD's/SACD's all over again. Not sure what size room your PB2+ is in but you'll also find that on some movie/music passages, there will be bass you never knew existed if you haven't already discovered this.:D If you need any help, let us Polkies know, you'll be suprised at how many responces you get.

Glad you are loving it. The PB2+ cannot be touched for $1,200 - it's like the Rock in The Rundown barfight - polite and refined until you push it, and then it unleases hell and crushes everything into dust.

Stick around and talk Polk (I assume you've got Polk speaks), and let us know how the rest of the system sounds.

Congrats on the sub. You will find out that subsonic sounds will come out like you could not believe. There is sooo much more information in the lower freq. part of the sound tracks and that sub will gladly introduce you.

    Welcome to the forum

I never realized how much low freq info there was on DVD's, and this on a 2-channel setup. My SVS introduced me to it, though. It brings alot of realism to the experience.
