RTi6 versus RTi8
I am trying to decide if I should purchase the RTi6 or the RTi8 model. I currently have the subwoofer model 303. I think that both models sound good, however in terms of long term, I can't decide if the RTi8 model is wprth the difference. I am also torn because the tower speakers are fairly large, and I pefer the non-cluttered look in the house. However, I want to get the best sound, so if there is that much of a difference, I will mover up. Any suggestions?

I'd go with which ever sound you like better.
Do you do a lot of 2 channel listening, or plan to in the future???
That may be a critical question in finding the best solution for you. The 8s will give better bass response for 2 channel, but then if you like the overall sound of the 6s better this is a moot point... -
I do a fair amount of two channel listening. I think that the model 8's had a better sound, however the place that I was at to sample the sound difference did not have a great setup in their listening room, so it was difficult to make an accurate comparison. I did notice the bass difference, which may make all the difference in my decision. I also thought that the clarity and detail of the highs from the model 8's was much better. I wonder if that was my imagination though.

Go for the 8's. Alternatively, you may be able to find a very good deal on a pair of Rti70's. Use the money you saved, sell your sub, and buy a Hsu STF-2 subwoofer. It's excellent for music.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

While the RTi6's are nice speakers for what they are, it's hard to beat a good tower speaker. You will get a much fuller sound from the RTi8's.
