Considering a new amp ...
I already have an A21 ... any opinions on the newest offering from Van Alstine ?
Will be used to drive my SDA 1c’s or possibly magnepan 1.7i’s in the future...

    I've heard the FET Valve 400R (or 600R) Hybrid on my speakers at Salk's speaker factory. If I were to change amps, I'd go with a Van Alstine. They are plain on the outside, but it's the insides that count.

    I don’t think I’ve been to Jim’s shop when his custom speakers were not powered by FVA amps… I never questioned him
    Probably a match made in heaven ... YMMV

    He's had some others, but they didn't hold up as well as FVA hot swapping. Yeah, he knows you shouldn't do it but when folks are demo'ing different speakers, I guess hurry up and hook those up...lol

    So far I am very happy amp wise. Just hope it holds up as long as I do. It was recapped and I relocated the soft start resistors so they don't burn the caps they were originally located by.
