I never thought I would see a day when I would be moving on from my venerable Pass Labs X1 preamplifier, but sadly that day has come. It will be staying in the family, fortunately, but It won’t be mine. It has been the soul of my two channel setup, admirably taming the beasts that are my Carver Statements...


It will be missed.

    I think it’s time some of these guys open the vault and let their unused gear find new homes. They need to do it slowly however, or the value of used gear will crater.

    I take my time reviewing a new piece of gear. You need to wait until the honeymoon period is over. Way too many rash judgment made off the cuff, positive and negative.

    One needs to settle in with a new piece of gear for awhile before a truly balanced analysis can take place.
