Someone at AK is doing a 'shootout' of inexpensive bookshelf loudspeakers.
This caught my eye because his first "review" is of the Polk RTiA3

Lol. One of the posters in the first thread says, "Polk bookshelves are losers." That is why it is rarely legitimate to generalize. As Bob Dylan famously said about a biographer, "You got some learning to do, boy!"

Yeah, I caught that comment.
Well, you remember what Epimenides of Crete (i.e., Epimenides the Cretan) said, right?
Said ol' Ep (suppposedly):All Cretans are liars.
Similarly, just remember:All generalizations are false, including this one.

Ha! You will note that I said, "it is rarely legitimate to generalize." Lol.

Oh, I am all about generalizations
I am right there with you, old son.

I have tried and tried to tell people how nice the Polks were but all I heard was Elac Elac Elac.... As you have seen they sound just as good if not better AND they dont look like they came out of Fred Sanfords junkyard. If the Elacs at least had a decent vinyl case I would respect them a lot more. Vinyl does not have to look or be cheap at all.....again, look at Polk's vinyl covered units like the TSX 110Bs that I own......you have to get up close and touch them to tell they are not veneer.
