Thank you for posting Dabutcher. Keep up the good work. That said, you can buy these 704's all day long at this price on eBay, new in the box, make an offer. I've seen the same sellers trying to sell these at that price for a long time. There's 3 in LA on Craigslist. Can't find super deals on 706's, 705's, or 707's yet though.

I assume adorama comes with the standard Polk warranty as an authorized seller, do you know if the ebay sellers are authorized and thus provide warranties, or is the warranty transferrable from original purchaser? Also, do the ebay sellers have free shipping? I've purchased from Adorama before and never had an issue.

Its a very nice, full sounding center, but your A6 goes deeper and will have more grunt for those HT effects that come largely through the center and the sub. Its also a brighter, more forward speaker, which is generally an advantage for HT. But heck, try it, I would interested in your comparison! But I have my doubts that the LSiM would be better for HT...

  • I think it’s kinda subjective. Coming from an RTI HT to the LSiM series it was a welcome change. I love the smooth natural sound of the LSiMs compared to the RTi series. I use the 704 center with 705s and 702 F/Xs and like them quite a bit more for movies and music than the RTi series they replaced. With that said I do employ auto calibration in my system for movies, so the sonic characteristics of each are being manipulated, but still the end result, for me, is much improved with the LSiM.

So the 706 is on sale for twice the price of the 704? Is it twice as nice? Got my 705’s for $800 for the pair. 600 each on this sale. Adorama is Polks number one authorized seller. Ken said so. So full warranty for sure. Peace. D

I'll pass this time around. I did just blow most of MY funds on the XPA3 and Christmas is right around the corner. That would be a bad thing not to get the wife something and I have a new speaker.

You know the answers to your questions. No need to patronize. I wasn't attacking anybody. I was stating a fact. The 703's and the 706's are good deals at the adorama slickdeals price. The 704 not so much is all I'm saying. Do what you wanna do.

I am running the A6 with lsi25. It is a bit brighter more fwd, but with HT, it makes the voices pop out more and i do like the combo. @rooftop59 is right on with his comments in my opinion.

Dont mean to jack the thread, but what kind of processing is involved doing that? Or do you just wire them in series or parallel? My center is below my tv and the Yamaha HTR does a pretty good job with the dialogue lift feature. Kind of moves the vocals to mid screen.
