Got my MM12 back from the factory under warranty and I wanted to know if I am breaking it in properly or if I can venture at higher rates or something. Not exactly sure how to break in a sub so here goes...

First 10 hours I kept the volume at 13 out of a 31 posistioned level on my HU. Flat EQ and amp gain at 35% with no bass gain.

From 10-21 hours I turned the volume up to 18 out of the 31 for the HU. EQ bass gain a 2 out of a 6 on HU.

I am currently at roughly 22 hours and need advice on what to do. Do I stick to the regiment and discipline I am currently at or can I venture to more gain? (power gain and/or bass gain for HU and/or amplifier)

I have been on other forums involving Ford Explorer stereos and people tell me I am nuts, trying to knock sense into me like I do not realize 80 hours would take a month atleast, and don't need to break in my sub for 40 hours and told them optimum time for a Polk is 72-80hours and just get ripped on for that statement, yet fact. Not complaining all that much about it. Rather be safe than sorry after my 2 weeks without a sub.

So yeah, any feedback from y'all would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

I will keep an eye on the messages and reply also.

I really appreciate it, thanks a bunch. I actually went back into the ford truck forums and quoted the book for a MM12 about breaking them in and they said Polk suck. I had a good laugh and found out they were running the RF 10's. Was a fun day, LOL. Anyways thanks again.

I am a Ford owner at the moment. Truck is awesome, but these guys were straight up morons LOL. I did a search in FAQs in Polk about heat and cold blowing the sub(I know retarded argument) because it was an argument in my thread that it has more to do with that than not breaking them in and it's funny when you give a link to your specific subwoofer, the instructions book in pdf file form with exact location of information (truth) I am still the stupid one who knows nothing.
