I thought I did my homework with my receiver> I bought a Yamaha rx-v1300. Polk audio rti 4 bookshelf fronts, fxi 30 surround, 202 sub, sci20 but now that I read on... does the rti 4 "voice match" the csi20? My speakers are still in the box. Should I upgrade the center speaker? (on a budget)

The CSi20 is not the perfect match for the RTi4s. The CSi3 is a better match and not that much more expensive. Where did you buy your speakers?

Crutchfield. I know I can send them back and without the cost of shipping. Thought I was doing the ok thing with the same brand but as I study I see that there is more to the picture. Thanks. I think I will send them back and upgrade.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will be happy with the results. Let us know what you think of your system after you have had some time with it.

Is this your first experience with HT?

No... I had a cheapo system when they first came out. I had been doing my homework (I thought) I really was diligent about my receiver and think I did ok with that. My budget was around 1000 dollars and my speakers came to 650. My Yamaha rx -1300 receiver was 385 on ebay. I had second thoughts about the lowest priced polk center speaker but the crutchfield website said that they matched up with the rti speakers. When I started reading these posts I realized that maybe the center speakers should have been my first priority. I really appreciate all this input. This is cool.
