No experience with the Oscar Schmidt, but, I did have a Washburn Chicago series that I loved. Think it was Korean. There are good Chinese made guitars.

I think the best of the knock off lesters are the Burny's Made in Japan. They are not allowed to sell them in the US after the lawsuit.
