Downloaded the family picture under heading 'This is heartbreak for us' to my desktop. Picture is 66.2 KB size on desktop.
Tried to drag and drop the picture from my desktop to this post.
I received "the file failed to upload" message.
I posted this picture on another local Falcons WordPress blog with no problems

I understand what you are saying. As a test I tried to drag an image from my desktop to this post. It worked. Can you try reducing the image size and try again? -
