JBL Signature speakers any thoughts?

Any thought on sound from these? I am trying to get the guy down to under the five hundred he is asking for them .Near perfect condition. I have no use for them or placement . Just so beautiful. Thanks. Dq7hqtrssljpj.jpeg

well they appear to have the horn loaded fostex type tweeter. I agree 500.00 is steep more than likely they will need some new caps.

    Fostex?! :p
    JBL, ol' son.
Something like a D130 woofer and an 075 bullet horn tweeter.
Those will be very expensive if the seller has any clue about them.
I find them even ear-gougier than Heritage Klipsch, myself, but the JBLs of that era (1950s into 60s) have some pretty rabidly passionate devotees, so what do I know?

Pretty high sensitivity -- "Great for tube amps", though, I can tell you that.

500 bucks is cheap; I think they're something along the lines of C38 cabinets, and I'd bet money they're loaded with the drivers I mentioned above. Probably worth twice that on the normal market.

Check the going price on a pair of D130s and a pair of 075s on eBAY :)

EDIT: heh, I just searched 'completed auctions' on eBAY -- 500 smackers is probably about right for those on the open market :)

    . . . .

the D130 inspired woofers by Pioneer/TAD and many others over the years -- even though, with its aluminum dustcap, it was an "extended range" driver :)

    ig5v9dfq6q3n.png

... and then there's the 075. What can you cay about a tweeter that could readily be weaponized?

(borrowed images, although I actually wouldn't mind trying a pair of D130s in my Altecs' enclosures :) )

but the OP doesn't want to spend five hunnert dollah for vintage JBLs -- the new L100s are four kilobucks.

The late, great @George Grand loved those little EV receivers and amps!

That's a cool little pickup, if'n you ask me (and realizing full well that you didn't) :)

of course, I cannot find that receiver in a catalog scan online; here's the integrated amplifier morph. :p

Lake Elmo,Mn. Sold for $950,000.00. Some are speculating beacause it is on the exclusive lake that only has about ten houses on it that it will be torn down to build a more modern home. Exterior and interior are in very good structural condition with really nice wood work.
    Love yours,D

That's a shame! But on the other hand how nice would it be to be able to throw away $950,000.00 ;)

It would be criminal to tear that house down and replace it with some modern POS.
