I have yet to hear a bad review of it. Being that TB is my favorite director, this is a must (blind) buy tomorrow.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

It was pretty decent, but I watched it just after my Grandfather passed away so it hit pretty hard. If you have a strong family bond between generations or just enjoy old time story telling, you'll like the movie. If not, you'll be bored to tears...
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

I liked it. I saw it in the theater when it came out. Personally, I'd rent it first.

I give it two thumbs up.

The two headed Japanese woman is pretty neat.

Watched it last night. Wonderful story and pretty emotional if you ask me. It was funny & sad. I think this is Burton's best work. I think you'd be a pretty heartless person not to be at least mildly touched by this movie.

    MUST BUY!

Watched it last night as well.

I'll say this, Tim Burton is the most creative director out right now. His imagination, style and creativity has yet to be matched by any other.

The movie was one of his best but Edward Scissorhands still ranks #1 for me with Nightmare Before Xmas following up a close second.

Dannys score was good, a little drab at times. The acting was very well done by all. The movies pace was steady throughout and the past / future / story telling scenes flowed extremely well.

    A 9 / 10 in my book. A must buy!

Tim Burton is the perfect director for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. My #1 must see for next year.

I'm also a big TB/Danny Elfman fan. I've got all their movies, even Pee Wee...

I love that documentary on the making of TNBC, good stuff...

I even enjoy both commentaries through ES...think that's Danny's best work...
