The volume on my receiver (Yamaha RX-V800) needs to be set to 50% or higher to have a reasonable sound level. I have the RM6600 system with the PSW250 sub, connected to it. Anyone know if this is normal or is something wrong?

Depending on the movie, I set the volume between
40 and 50 most of the time. Have gone as high as 35. Thats plenty loud enough for me.
    I also have a yamaha.

Thats weird... I have the 795a... model prior to your 800 and I usualy watch it at 25-35% volume.. 50% would be way too loud. Not sure what is up with your system..??? My other yammie was the same way as my 795a... maybe check your settings?
BTW... I have a pretty large room to fill too

I have a yamaha rxv-995 and the knob on mine is aroumd the 35-40 mark, and this is pretty loud. On mine there is a main level setting...-10db, or Normal. Maybe yours has this too. ?? Mine is set to -10db and is very loud around the 35-40 mark.
PS-I am using external amps, not the internal.

Yamaha has great customer service, maybe they can help you solve the problem, if not, I will be glad to try, or at least somebody on this forum can help you, concidering all the smart and clever people that have helped me.
