That must’ve been intense for a first go. How old were you?

First “real” concert was Johnny Cash in the Houston Astrodome I think 1972. Snuck up to an area right in the front and nobody made us move. I remember how impressed I was with his charisma. He was a tall fella and exuded charisma!

It was Deep Purple and Def Leppard, but watching Randy from the 4th row was most memorable.

We lost Randy a month later....yeah I do remember this one more :'(

Thank you, I was feeling like the most senior citizen until I read this. I saw the Stones at the Hyde Park London concert in 1969. Please don't tell me you were 5 at the time. :)

The Who, Capital Centre (Largo, MD) 1976 (I think it was 1976).

My first concert was also at the Cap Centre, may it rest in peace. A double bill with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble and Jeff Beck (replete with Terry Bozio on drums). It was a couple years later, however...

Second show I went to was at the Civic Center, the Clash of the Titans tour. Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, and Alice in Chains. What an experience.

Since the site double posted me, but I'm still within the edit window, I'll mention my second; Wu-Tang Clan opening up for Rage Against the Machine at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Tried sneaking on the floor with my buddy inbetween sets, but we got busted. Security started walking us out of the arena until we talked them into letting us go back to our seats.

As soon as Rage went on, a group of 20 of us bum rushed the floor. I thought it would be a good idea to leap head first over the rails...somehow I didn't end up with a cracked skull after that, or my time in the pit. Definitely seems like a different lifetime at this point.
