help with sub box sizes
Systems

hi all,
i have just purchased a polk GNX124 12" sub.
i would like to build the single ported box with a cubic foot of 1.75 as per the specs on this site.
the problem I have is the size of my box is goverened by where it needs to go. the box will need to be (external sizes) 16" high by 10" deep; assuming 1" thick MDF construction how wide should it have to be to get 1.75 cubic feet? (the width is the variable as I have plently of space there!)
thanks in advance if anyone can help!

there's no disadvantage to building it with 1" though. it does allow the possibility of upgrade later. It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

oh, and to new steve, just use this thread, i think you put this question up somewhere else too. it's much much easier just to use this one. but i did give the measurement for 1" MDF in the other one. It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon
