Hey yall. I figured yyou would love to hear about this one:
Here I am eating my frozen pizza for dinner (cooked of course), when my wall starts making banging noises. First my door, then I go out, then my wall... still see nothing. then the door again. Walah! I find my neighbor outside.
NB: "Hey man! Is tyhat your car?!"
Me: "Yeah."
NB: "****! Some guys just broke into it! The cops are chsing him right now."
I look out and see this guy running...
NB: Yeah! That's Him!"
So off I go to see.. I run far enough to see that the cop has some support. SO I back off to see my car. I pass a light blue silver honda, running, the door open.... and my toolbox and 6x9's in the back seat.
"This is gonna be interesting I think to myself"
When I get to my car I see:
1: Broken glass, and....
2: My 3 foot long sub box hanging out my rear triangular window....
No, not the door, which was open too... the SMALLEST window on the car...
So Stef, My fiance, and I go to see the cop after he returns and has the two f'ups in his car.
ME "Hey, I'm not sure who called you guys, but thanks for coming out so quick."
COP "No man, I was just driving by... I saw the thing hanging out the window, then one was inside screaming "Get me the f*ck outta here! I went up and was like 'Hey bud whatcha doin?' Then he took off and I had to chase him."
Well anyway, we took care of my toolbox and 6x9's in the guys' car. And my baseball bat, and my cd's.... yeah, the guy took my baseball bat... the busted aluminum one I keep in the car for bashing little f*cks like him.
We got all the report and all done, case closed and charges filed of course.. the cop witnessed it.
So back to the car I go...
Stereo on front: Dash busted to get it out, but didnt get it, didnt find my faceplate for it on the FLOOR, which is where I keep it cause those bums arent smart enough to look. Furthermore, Rockford Fosgate will not sell anyone a faceplate without a receipt for the deck or the old faceplate, as they are matched by serial numbers.
Speaker Tray: for the 6x9's broken of couyrse, not to mention they cut the wires, THEN pulled the speakers off, which ripped the wires out of the speaker cone... but they still walked them to their car to keep em.
They didnt hurt my old DB12's, but ripped the grilles off to get em out the little **** window.
Not only that, but they busted my hatchback lock and failed to get in... but I get to keep their screwdriver! They messed up my driver's door, and it wont close well at all, It was broken before but they broke it more. They totalled my window on the rear side.
Oh just to let you know.. the window is about 16" x 12" and slopes to maybe 8" in the back.... this is where they tried to pull my 3ftx14"x9" box through....
Well it has been an interesting night... I have to go total up the damages now...

Sorry to hear about all the damage to the car, but that is a very funny story. Those guys are idiots. They stole the broken speakers, unbelievable. What kind of car do you have with such a small window?Graham

It's a pontiac le-mans aerocoupe. For a new reference.. it looks like the hyundai accent 2-door hatch. or the daewoo lanos, but it is an 88... It's really a daewoo underneath a pontiac emblem.
Yeah that was stupid.. they could have folded the drivers seat down and maybe even unbolted the thumbpost wires on the subs.....

I need to look up a price for replacement of my deck for this. I have an old Rockford RF9200, which was damaged in the burglary... so I need a site with TERRIBLE prices to get a quote on a replacement for it. I don't even know if anyone would still stock this model. I will try calling my bud in MD to see if he still has any, but I doubt it.
Oh, and if anyone has a suggestion on a replacement for my Sony Xplod 6x9's (185w) let me know... I may start a thread elsewhere on the forum for that though.
