Dayton subwoofer?
Hey all, I'm thinking about getting one or two of the Dayton subs from Parts Express. Anyone know anything about it? Here's the link:

FWIW That Dayton sub seems to be the most popular entry level sub at HTF. I cant think of a better sub for that much money (excluding DIY).Graham

Dayton makes some good drivers IMO. I just completed a DIY sub with a Dayton 10" Titanic MKIII driver. I'm really impressed so far. That appears to be a good deal. I'd probably try it.Proud SOPA Member since 2005!

so did you buy this Dayton sub?? I'm thinking about buying one, would love to hear your thoughts if you did get one.

I want to know too, thanks.
What about to compared with velodyne CHT12 and hsu STF-2 with the price in mind? -
I never got one. Maybe later on in the year...

well, i broke down and bought one from Parts Express. I've never had a really nice subwoofer so my opinion may be skewed but I think its awesome. The bass sounds really "tight" and blends well with my speakers.
for $109 shipped, i don't think you can do better than this. heck, you might not even do better with two or three times that much money. -
What size of room do you have?
I might buy one for my mom's system...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
11'5" x 13'10"
now that my main system is setup at my new place i should be posting pics to the showcase soon -
Hmmm...
How do you think it would manage in a room about.....
20x15?
It is a kitchen/dining room/den --
The mains are Pioneer CS9000 (?) - they have dual 12's (only hit down to about 35-40hz...
Do you think it could hold up running with them, possibly two of them?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
sorry, I can't say definitely. I'm not much of a bass head so I think our opinions on the sub would vary. If you want a ton of bass I'd probably say get something bigger just to be safe. Then again, I'm not sure how two together would sound, and it would still be relatively cheap (around $200) for two 10" subwoofers.
