Recommendations for LSiM 7.2.4 Atmos setup.
Looking for input on an LSiM 7.2.4 setup.
The setup is for a condo.
50% music/50% movies.
I am tentatively looking at:
705 - fronts
706c - center
703 - surrounds
702f/x - surrounds back
DSW PRO 660 wi - dual subs
Either OWN5 or OWN3 as on-ceiling Atmos speakers.
I know there are better subs - but I would like to keep everything Polk!

The 705’s work well in medium to largish rooms, 703’s work better in smaller rooms. So first question is room size.
The 706 is a really big center, I know, I have one. I have a full size component on each side of this thing and the stand is 70 inches wide. Probably could have had everything touching, and hanging off the sides, and gotten away with 65, but probably wouldn’t be ideal. Just saying, make sure you have room.
I personally prefer bi/di-pole speakers as surrounds as surrounds and direct firing speakers for rears, so you may want to experiment.
Yes, there are much better subs than what Polk offers, but if you want all Polk, it’s your money.
If you decide the 705’s will work, suggest you get an amp. Ran them off an AVR for a while, and after adding an amp, completely different sounding speaker, at least to my ears. They really like current to make them happy. Give it to them, and they will make you happy. -
That’s a lot of speakers for a condo! But I’m sure it will sound awesome!
I also think you would be happy with the 703s, but they also need an amp imo.
There is no good rationale for buying Polk subs. subs aren’t timbre matches, and who cares if they all have the same name on them? For a similar price dual HSU or svs are just so much better...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

I use 705 for front left and right, a 703 for the center, 4 702 f/x for surrounds and 4 TL3s with Omnimount for on ceiling Atmos. Easy to aim at MLP. The TL3s are small, but have the same tweeter as the LSiMs. They sound fine. I'll upgrade if Polk introduces a larger version with the ring radiator tweeter of the LSiMs.SONY VPL-VW385ES, Da-Lite 92" 0.9 HD progressive 16x9 screen, Apple TV 4K, Oppo UDP 203, Anthem AVM 60, D-Sonic 4000 (800x3, 400x4) for bed layer, 2 Crown XLS 1002 (225x4) for Atmos; Speakers: Polk LSiM 705s, 703 front, 4 702F/X surround, 4 Polk TL3 (Atmos), Velodyne DD15 Subwoofer.
