Hey guys. The thread on the Yamaha RX-V430 going for $65 shipped got me thinking.. (hated to miss that one).

We have family moving to town.. my wife's brother and his family are moving to KC from Colorado Springs. I think it would be great to pick up a 'moving in' present for them.. that Yamaha for near-fifty bucks would have been perfect.. to get them started on some gear. They don't have any way to even listen to music except for your basic cheapy box....

I obviously won't be able to respond/buy if a bunch of you have stuff to unload... I apologize for that... but if you've got anything that would be good starter gear.. I'd think either a receiver or speakers to start.. I'd be interested.

Thanks.. and again, sorry that I can't get everything.. if I was that cash-rich, I could head off to CC or BB for stuff....

I picked up a Luxman R-113 stereo receiver the other day. I could do $60 shipped on it (have $50 in it). Famed little brother to the 115 and 117.

Straight 2 ch, has a cd direct (tone bypass) feature, and preouts for later expansion. All the usual bells and whistles, phono stage, digital tuna, presets, couple tape loops, tone controls, etc. 35 REAL wpc, continous, has a toroidal power supply bigger than my fist. Binding posts, etc etc.

Something you think about, I'm in no hurry. I can get you some pics if needed.

    Cheers,
    Russ

He manages a restaurant. They were visiting a few weeks ago and we all talked the pipe dream of being closer, and his wife was going to travel here in July when our baby is born... and a week later he gets offered the store 5 miles from here. Honestly, it was/is a God thing.

Russ... thanks for the offer. Let me think on it and do a little research.. I simply don't know anything about that model. I won't take days and days....

    burdette,

Hello. I have a Kenwood VR-405 (80 wpc X 5) DD AVR and a CS175i that I could make you a deal on, to get them started. Add a pair of RT 35/25/15 and they would have a good start. Do you ever get down to Springfield? I won't be up to KC till football season, but maybe we could meet half way.

send me a PM if you are interested.

    Thanks- Greg

Greg can you summarize the specs? Would make it much easier.

Russ if the deal went south on the 7a's let me know so I can bag them also. Don't ship the 5's yet... Mark may need them and we'll ship directly to the Mark's family.

South on 7a's? Not sure I follow you, I'm keeping mine, and pimping another member for his parts.

Nothing 7a or otherwise for sale here. Let me know on the 5b's, they are set to the side, and ready to go.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Local pickup would be GREAT. Maybe I can send some extra goodies with him?

    Henry,

I was going to PM Mark these pictures, but could not find a way to attach the image??? Did I miss something? Therefore, I posted them here for him to view. I am going to make him a deal on this, if he wants it. It would make a good starter system for someone, or an upgrade from Prologic. I look forward to getting together this fall after a Chief's game!

    Take care- Greg

I've got a HK AVR45 (5x55 HCC, DD Surround) in perfect condition (very little use) that I'd be willing to make you a good deal on.

gacole, per our emails, we're a done deal on the AVR. Only thing left to decide is if my family and I make a day trip south one Saturday in May, or if you box it and ship it. Branson.... Dennis Miller called Branson "Vegas for people without teeth." My wife attended a Christian Women's Conference there last month... too bad about the timing. All that's left is the details.

All right Russ and H... you guys are making deals I'm not sure my check book can fulfill. But if A is making a trip to Dallas... gee... that just CAN'T be coincidence. I need to know $$ on the 5Bs. Are these 5jr+?? What else ya got, Russ? Just for kicks and giggles....

RVJII... thanks for the offer/information... but I committed to gacole and we've worked it out satisfactorily.

    Mark,

There is a lot to do there for kids (teeth are optional). Further, let me check the Royals schedule and I may be able to come up and kill 2 birds with one stone. I'll keep you posted.

    Thanks again- Greg

They are Monitor 5b's. SL2000's (you're getting a spare for free), 8" pr. Talk to Henry about cost, he already paid for them.

What else do you need? I've got too much to list.

    Thanks for all the responses.

I'm hooked up as much as I need to be... uh.. I mean... as much as I can afford to be right now.

Taking the Kenwood from gacole2000 and hooked up with Russman for a pair of speaks. Oh, ya... *I* get to keep the speakers... the inlaws get a different pair....

Now... to tell my wife... ".... oh HUNeeeeeee.... have I told you today how ravishing you look?"

    Henry,

I got my Dad's 4 season tickets for the Sat. day game (5/29) on Memorial Day weekend. I need to find someone to drive up with me, so I'll have 2 extras (1st row behind the dugout!). If your daughter can't go, maybe Polk Thug can join us (or afterwards)? Let me know if you have made plans for the holiday yet.

    Thanks- Greg
