Speaker terminal protectors

So newer integrateds and receivers have those plastic collars around the speaker post so frayed wires dont cross onto the wrong terminal. Im not a big spade speaker wire fan but...can that plastic collar easily be broke off to accomodate spades? Possibly the dumb Q of the day here....

believe that is a new European requirement. No I would not try and break them off.

There should be no need to break off anything to accommodate spades. For example, the ones that Clipdat posted unscrew like every other binding post to accommodate spades.
