Guys,
I bought these off Madmax some time ago.I planned on surroundback or a 2 channel system in my office. They just sit in my closet with no love shown.

I will sell them if someone wants them.If not I will hold on to them as they only have 4 hours from madmax on them and about 90 from me breaking them in for a demo.Since then they have sat in my closet.

I can post a pic or send one to who ever is intrested.

I payed 500.00 as Madmax gave me a killer deal.I just want the same plus shipping for a non local pickup or meet somewhere.

I have the orignal boxes.

I live just north of Philadelphia.I'm 6 minutes from the burlington bristol bridge.

I could meet you somewhere as NJ isn't that big.Or you could come here and hear them before you take them.

Actually, I won't be ready to purchase the big dogs for another month or so. But I'll look ya up to see if ya still have 'em at that point. Working on some Rotel stuff for now. Although that is subject to change should I find the right deal on speakers. And so it goes...

    Guys,
this is ridiculous deal on a pair of highly regarded speakers.

If I didn't buy a pair of ebony nines literally a week ago these would have been mine allday (;) )

Just for reference, you will be hard-pressed to find a pair of these (*in this condition) on ebay for less than 600, last pair of cherry ones went for 685 + shipping.

In summary, this forum is in a grave state if a deal like this on a current model speaker has no takers after this long.

Good luck with the sale Dan, keep me in mind if you let those 15's go.

Great speakers both but alot of people shop the WEB and find the prices high.

The speakers we're talking about here are used and that right there is a big issue for many. Used speakers have no warranty and that's a big issue for some.

But just dealing with 'price'....$949 for the used LSi15 from fireshoes is OK but we all know he's an insider and got these for far less (maybe we know to much?). Plus if anyone looked a bit on the WEB you can get these fine speakers new for $1050 and you don't have to be an insider or anything for that price.

The $500 for mantis passed around LSi9's is OK too but again if price is the deal then why buy used? For $630 you can have brand new and you can have either cherry or black.

I went with the excellent (and new) LSiC center speaker a couple of months ago for $360. off the WEB and I've been a real happy camper ever since.

Ebay prices are 'NUTS' but I assume the buyers there have some money but little common sense. I just think the folks in here have both.

Just make the deals more 'attractive' (sweet'n them up a bit) and we'll see them move.

In fact, I have some money burning a hole in my....maybe it's time to replace my RTA12's?

    Dan,
I would suggest trying Audiogon. You can probably get $700 for them there in a classified without all the BS like you get on ebay.
    madmax

EDIT: And without this BS about cutting people a deal... 500 for a like new pair of LSi9's is a killer deal! In a normal thread it would be ok but to post stuff like that in a selling ad shows no respect if not a bad attitude. What do you think SC, $50 each??

For madmax brain....I would offer 2 bits.

For the brain heart and soul of both F1nut and madmax…4 bits, but I think I would still be getting chipped on the deal!

Cut loose with your tirades, be rude and crude. Children release yourselves and all the little four letter words you can think of. It will make you whole again.

Wish you guys weren’t such dullards and bores (or is it schmucks & microbrains) as we might be able to buy and sell without your interference.

I'll just backup and re-count all my monies again, it’ll take awhile but it’s allot of fun.

Yeah, no ****. Don't under-cut other peoples deals---it's bad form. If you're not interested in what he's offering, move on. Hopefully someone will do the same for you when it comes time for you to sell....then again, maybe they won't.

Damn it, I was going to stay on the high road for this. Ah well...

Maybe you don't know as much as you think.

Ok, I sell Polk and I get a discount.... Why should that affect my re-selling price? Do you have any idea how many morons I have to put up with on a daily basis? I work about 50 hours a week doing this. I leave for work about 9am and get home around 9:30pm a lot of times. I can't remember the last time I had a weekend off. I earn my discount.

If you bought your house for $50,000 and then when you decided to sell it the market value was $75,000, are you going to sell it for $50k? Hell no, you're not!

So what if I get a better deal than others on Polk stuff. I've sold probably $250-300,000 worth of their merchandise in the last three years.

    I feel the same way.

The point he was making was why pay $500 for these when you could pay $130 more and get a warranty. This is silly for a few reasons as I see it. I'll list them:

*These have been played for around 90 hours. Chances are anything that was going to go wrong would have.

*These have already been broken in. That is 90 hours of less than great sound.

*Unless you abused them there would be no need for future warranty work.

*If in fact you did have warranty work by the time you paid the shipping back to them (I don't know, maybe $30) you could have added another $20 and replaced a bad driver yourself.

*Would you really want to subject the pair to shipping both ways when you could have just ordered a driver from polk and installed it yourself?

*After being shipped a few times how could you be assured they hadn't been impacted somewhere along the way causing them not to sound right?

*What are the chances they would be physically marked up after repair and shipping?

*These particular ones were hand carried to Mantis because of fear of shipping.

That sounds like 8 pretty good reasons to save $130 to me!
