Polk Sub HTS 10 or 12 with RTi A9’s

Currently I’m running my RTi A9’s with a 200 watt external amp and all is well in that regard. I find the A9’s have excellent bass when I put the power to them but are lacking at lower power levels. My solution so far is to add 2 of the Polk HTS 10 Subs to the mix but I haves few concerns.
HTS 10 is relatively low power (100watt continuous 200watt peak)
HTS 12 x 2 may be a bit much.
Does any one have experience with either of these two subs with the A9’s ? I am aware of the frequency ranges etc.. of all items but for various reasons want to stay with Polk if I can.
Room is 14’ x 28’ with 10’ ceilings, listen to Music 60/Movies 40, don’t care so much about surround sound just want to warm things up at lower power levels.
Thank you

100 Watts continuous seems like a small amount of power, but the efficiency of the driver and cabinet is what matters, not Watts.
Since this is for music then I would go with the HTS-10s, because they are a little faster, and cleaner, at least I would assume it is because it’s a smaller cone. In a 14x28 you will probably need 2 like you said.

I would get an SVS or HSU sub any day over a Polk. I like Polk speakers but their subs are nowhere near HSU or SVS. @ 60% music I would get one of the SVS outlet specials "SB" sealed subs. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Hi Snarl. Welcome to the forum. I see that your looking for sub/subs to help your A9’s at lower levels. Before anything...what’s your budget? From what I’ve read about the HTS Subs, they are a good price/performance ratio sub ( when on sale )...not SVS or HSU level tho. The HTS subs look good IMOMy Setup: Denon AVR X3600h, Polk Signature S50 Fronts w/ S30 Center and S15 Rears, LG UBK90 4K Player, TCL 6-Series 65”4k TV
