Will an SVS PB1-ISD sound significantly better then my current PSW-350? Also what would be a fair price to sell the PSW-350 for (1.5yrs old)?

I went from a 350 to my SVS settup and all I can say is that I did not realize what a sub was supposed to do until I set up the SVS. There is NO comparison between the 2.

Not sure about the price of the 350.

you can go on Ebay and get a feel of about how much they are going for, then you can drop that price and hook a polkie in the forum up ;):D

Adiodato - I echo those comments, it is much better than the PSW-350.

Bill - I think it would be overpowering for your satellite speakers, IMO. It's a crushing subwoofer.

Thank you for all of your comments.

Now if I can just sell this PSW-350...

I would run the ad here, it's free. It's a decent subwoofer, just realize not much profit, if any is made here typically. Polk Forum is more a sharing and helping forum, not a retail forum....pass on a deal to another Polkie as mentioned previously.

Good luck in whatever you choose.

I used to own the RM6600's, they will not stand a chance with a SVS in the mix. If you did add a SVS to the mix, PB1-ISD would probally be the way to go. Those sat's are just to small to hang IMHO. If properly calibrated it may work though.

I went from dual PSW450's to a single PB2+ and holy @#$%. Go SVS and never look back.

If your properly calibrate the sat/sub system, the SVS will not overpower it.

What these guys are saying is that the SVS has the "potential" to play louder than your sats can, and there is a possible mismatch unless you calibrate properly.

The SVS can tolerate up to around a 120 Hz xo and still sound good. If you are using a speaker level connection, the low pass on the SVS does indeed go up to 120 Hz.

I wouldn't be afraid to upgrade your sub. Just use the power wisely and blend it well with your sats and you'll be fine. If you want to upgrade in the future, the sub will already be there waiting for even more capable speakers.

Isn't the crossover in the satellites fixed @150hz?

Ouch - that could cause a prob unless his AVR has a 150 xo and he goes low level and defeats the low pass filter on the SVS. It might do 150 OK, but I would say it isn't optimal. I'd check with Tom V at SVS before I took the plunge at 150 Hz.
