I think that the Dead wanted to sound like this

Listening to Tull now, no one sounds like Tull!

I only know 2 Climax Blues Band songs. I blame The Grateful Dead for the continued existence of hippies.

Alternatively, I have always thought that it would have been very cool for the Dead to have covered (are you ready for it?) Carole King's Smackwater Jack. To the best of my knowledge, though, they never did.
Smackwater Jack, has a rhythm that evokes, to me, at any rate, that which I like to call the Grateful Dead lope.
I mean that as a compliment to both Ms King & the Dead.

I have always thought that Billy Joe Royal's song "Campfire Girls" sounded like The Grateful Dead.

Not even David Crosby?
I would say "no, not even David Crosby" (FWIW)
David Crosby pretty much sounds like -- David Crosby
No matter whose liver he's usin'.

I posted in this thread when it was new. Since then, I've never looked back. It's almost like living a dream.

David Crosby - a man with no friends, thanks to his opinions.[

My tongue-in-cheek comment referring the DC's comment on "the no talent Ted Nugent".[ -
He's a piece of work, he is.

Crosby is an excellent example of what drugs will do to you.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."
President of Club Polk -
True, but my guess is he was and would have been effed up with or without the drugs.

Melissa Ethridge wanted his DNA!
