Proper orientation of male split pin RCA plug

It's not a defect of the female RCA jack, it's just a design "flaw" that becomes apparent when using this style jack with split tip RCA cables. It's the same on all 4 pieces of gear I tried. No not difficult. but it is a stamped piece of metal in the cheaper RCA's so there could be one of two things going on. maybe there was a burr on that lot of RCA's in the stamping process or it's a piece that ties something together that happens to touch the plug. Either it was not designed to engage the RCA pin in any way it just happens to touch it.
Yes, normally of course you wouldn't be intentionally rotating the RCA cable after it's been plugged. However the issue/situation here is that for a cable that has some weight/body to it, when you plug one end in, and then attempt to run it to the other piece of gear you are connecting, the weight and bulk of the cable can actually inadvertently rotate the plug in the jack.
Also the issue I described earlier where if you happen to plug it in "just right" (aka wrong), then the internal piece of metal will get inserted between the split tip which just seems awkward and undesirable.mhardy6647 wrote: »I guess I am still kind of wondering why one would rotate an RCA plug in a jack?
I don't think that's standard practice, other than a little judicious wiggling when removing one. -

NEVER have I EVER had ANY cable with an RCA plug do this.
Yes I have had to twist them to get them on and off due to the the tight grip of some RCA's

Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I've experienced it with AQ King Cobra and these Douglas Connection locking cables I just got, even with the lock screwed down fairly tight and snug.NEVER have I EVER had ANY cable with an RCA plug do this.

MIT Shotguns = problem solved
-
@Clipdat you are over thinking this. Is there a "groove" ?
-
How are the MIT Shotguns "problem solved"? Simply because they don't have a split tip?MIT Shotguns = problem solved
I disagree that I'm "over thinking" this, as anyone can replicate the issue/symptom I'm describing with a piece of gear that has this very common type of female RCAs and a split pin RCA cable.
It just seems nobody else is willing/able to do so. Or nobody cares.afterburnt wrote: »@Clipdat you are over thinking this. Is there a "groove" ?

I have had this happen to me before and I don’t buy split tip RCAs because of it.
-
@Clipdat if there is no groove or notch or something to indicate specific orientation the world is your huckleberry, you can get wild and get crazy in 360 degrees!

Lol finally someone else understands what I'm describing.mlistens03 wrote: »I have had this happen to me before and I don’t buy split tip RCAs because of it.

Then don't use the split pins....see how easy that was ?
Not sure what answer your looking for, but given all the responses, seems you have a few choices, none may be desirable, but that's called trial and error. Normally one would just plug it in and forget about it....UNLESS there is some deprivation to the sound obviously. Chalk it up to a learning experience and move on, not much else to be done.HT SYSTEM-

Yes John, I'm the stupid one, but even resident know it alls Jesse and Ivan didn't know that there were different internal designs of female RCA jacks that cause issues with split pin RCA cables.
Let's just think about that for a moment.nooshinjohn wrote: »After reading this thread I feel as though I have grown much more stupider than I wuz wen I woked up.
