if you can afford it and have the patience, more is better. important spots - for subs, the trunk (the whole thing, not just the lid. take up the carpet and the spare tire if youve got one and secondskin the whole shebang) and don't forget the license plate, that rattle drives me nuts. for doors, a 1 foot square behind the mids does wonders. from there on in it's all good. i've seen an H2 install that had dynamat on every square inch of metal they could reach - three layers of it. if you hit the door all it did was thud, like pounding on a tree. awesome sound inside too.

yes, there is a spray version, but i personally prefer the sheets. it's worked better in my experience. more work for more benefit. i honestly have no idea how much the stuff costs or how much a can covers, so i can't help you there. i do believe the spray is intended for the hard-to-apply areas, like small, irregular corners and the like.

Definitelly go with the sheets. Remember there are 3 kinds of dynamat. regular, thick and extreme. OR if you can find it, there is a commercial grade that gets put in some cars when manufactured. Simply called rubber noise deadener, it's a bit cheaper without the brand name. I was lucky and my car has them in key areas. I still dynamatted the entire roof, even over the one that was there.... and the hatch/trunk too. Get help with the roof, dynamat is heavy and doesnt peel off too well if you mess up. OH and get a seam flattener roller for a few bucks for wallpaper, usually wooden. It gets bubbles out real well.

and works better, and sticks better, and conforms better...
use a heat gun and a tennis ball to work it into corners and to press it down, trust me, tennis balls work better than rollers

Hey man, shipping on mastic is going to be high... that stuff is heavy.

Oh, I asked Ant at secondskin if he has a local dist ner my zip, kickin website man. I also noticed that the fatmat that was posted here has some good lookin stuf too, but it doesn't look as topQ as the Secondskin (I didnt get into looking at the specs so far.)
Of course, if Cody can get Ant to get Jerry some warehouse discount....

swerve - please, for the love of phil, remember to put little rubber thingies on your licence plate. just like washers, only thicker and rubber, put em between the car and the plate on the screws... it pains me just to imagine that rattle...

My bumper is rubber-plastic, do it doesnt seem to matter. But I have a large plastic panel on the rear of my hatch that seems to rattle due to an air leak under it somewhere... Given that I've dynamatted the hell outta the inside of the actual hatch, and that you can hear the little tiny chuffing with the rattle...
Any ideas? I dont want to take it off and re-glue it, those panels are very fragile.

Careful man, you don't want to offend anyone. I mean, we DO have some people from Texas in this forum :) j/k
If anyone could be called a redneck, it'd be someone from southern Missouri...and if you don't like Duct Tape...super glue!

ah, but the advantage of duct tape is that you don't unintentionally get high off the fumes and start gluing your hand to the car cause it's funny...

then again, that would explain an awful lot... :D

I hope your car sounds awesome after all this work. Are you still going to have a lot of extra? What are you going to do with it? If you wanted to just give it away, I'm definitely interested...
