Hello All,
We're all here because we own or at some point have owned Polk Audio gear and wanted to reach out to an online community. Personally I've only owned a few select pieces and have enjoyed them.
Since this is in the subwoofer section here is my list:
Polk PSW450: this and a pair of RT55 is my entry into the HiFi world. At a young age I would go to the library and read articles on stereo magazines and was always enamored with the ads with Polk speakers and Matthew standing with his lab coat next to them. As I grew up, out of college and started a job my first paychecks went to speakers. Before the Polks I was playing with JBL Minuet, Frazier and Fisher my parents owned. I got my Dad's Sansui AU-6900, FR-1080 and long gone but used Sansui Tape deck. Later I added the CS400 and fx500 with a Yamaha AVR.
Polk PSW110: purchased for a bedroom 5.1, was pretty decent considering the low $99 price tag. Sold it and the sale was super quick, I guess there is a following for these little subs.
Polk DSW microPRO 3000: I can't say enough about this sub other than, I could have gotten the larger but rarer 4000. Polk Room Optimization, 1200W RMS 2400W peak, tight not boomy, with dual loud enough but not over bearing. Some would say I have not heard bass until I get a real subwoofer, for me space is a premium and these fit exactly where they are needed. If space were no object then I would move to a real sub like BagEnd Infrasub18, these were the only ones to tickle my fancy. Never heard the JL Audio but would be up there. I have heard SVS and I would consider an SB based cylinder (space) like the 4000.
LSi25: while its not a separate unit, these do come with a dedicated sub. Its decent, harder to blend but with Audyssey in an HT, their blending is much better. For 2ch, its a tough sell without some sort of correction.
Wish list long ago: PSW650 this was just a master sub in the same era as the PSW450. RT3000p, well like the LSi25 the powered sub portion looked incredible, basically a sealed RT55 on top of them.
What the sleeper Polk subs are there? I haven't looked into anything recent as they've a rehash of older designs

I’m contemplating adding a sub to my dedicated 2.0 anchored by LSiM707. Looking to fill 29Hz and lower. The C47 has a second set of switchable balanced outputs which could be used for the sub.
Space I have is limited to a hard 18” wide. I think an SVS SB4000 17.8” would fit.
Is it worth the extra effort? Some purists say no to subs. I’m seeing pretty sharp dips below 30Hz and a bump between 50-80Hz. So xover @40Hz.
Any other subs I should look at to go sub 20Hz in 18” wide max space?
Here are measurements by ARC.
