Is this enough to power my RTia9 speakers in stereo mode? I will only using them for stereo.

All they can do is look pretty with your current set up of only speakers.

A more robust amplifier would be a better choice. All those woofers crave a lot of current.

Agree with everyone above. You need a hefty dose of power for the A9's. Look for used Parasound HCA 1200 or 1500, B&k amps, McCormack, Belles, Rotel, just to name a few.HT SYSTEM-

I've never heard of them ants. But that's really light for a 5 channel amp - 26 pounds. 85 wpc is on the low end for those beasts.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Welcome to Club Polk.
Hello, new guy here.
I have had Polk speakers since the early eighties and I love them. I have some RTIA 9, and some older RTI sixteens from the early eighties.
I have just ordered an Atoll av500. I was told the ants have a break in period before they will sound good.
I was wondering if anyone else has used these amps to power their Polk speakers, and if you are happy with them.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
