Fix the one you have.
-
Or... Have it repaired. There are instructions here on the forum, or if you're not comfortable, there's at least 2 of us that can do it for you (including myself).
-
Do you know where to find those instructions?

read the whole thing, then hit me with any questions. I've done this several times now, all successful (mostly...I did chip one magnet, but it was a successful repair none the less). -

Looks like a few members have had success with it. Will give it a go when I have time. For now its a sad day for my 7's.Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.

6502 is very plentiful on eBay. Trust me it is not rare.
-
Is they a sonic difference in the new 6502s or do most prefer the originals?Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.

So if my pole piece is solid, should i still remove that from the magnet? And the top piece is still solid on the frame.Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.
-
Personally I'm a fan of pulling all 3 pieces apart and re-glueing them... Figure if one side failed, the other can do the same just as easily. Doing it this way also allows you to be sure the components are dead center. Use red Loctite. If you want/need other pics, don't hesitate to ask.

I found a single 5jr on CL im hoping the guys gets back to me. That should have a 6502 correct?Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.

Well the single 5jr was sold. so i looked at another pair of 5jrs that an older lady had for 35 bucks ended up having dry rot and a shifted magnet aswell. So your saying use 6503s instead of the 6502. Has anyone else tried this?Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.

Im gonna use my jr that i uave in storage for donors for now.Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.

6503s are 8 ohm nominal. 6502s are 4 ohm nominal. They are NOT interchangeable.Home Theater/2 Channel:

As I suspected, was just to lazy to find the PDFs at the time.
@mn_polk_guy send me the driver, I'll fix it for you. -
I fully plan on repairing it this weekend when i make it to home depot. so you guys use just red locktight in between the plates and magnets? And then power grab around the edge when finished?
Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B. -
I have about 20 6.5s that need to be powergrabbed. Just bought 200 feet of gasket from PE.Monitor 4.6, 5jr, 5, 7, 10, 11. RTA 8TL. RTA 11T. SDA 2B.
-
The Loctite replaces the 30 year old glue, so it's like having a fresh driver. The power grab would just be insurance as opposed to a fix.

Whatever, that guy is from Worcester, hasn't tried this, and uses Clarity px caps in the HIGH PASS of his crossovers. Nuff said.

What's that have to do with anything? Methinks you found yourself in the wrong conversation, and can't find a way out of it...
