Would SDA 1'Cs work in a 7.1 system powered by a 100 watt Yamaha receiver?

They would *work*, but poorly at best. You stand a very good chance of toasting drivers by clipping as the receiver won't be able to supply enough clean, high current power when called for.
It is *strongly* recommended you put a good amp on them & use the pre-outs of the receiver's front channels to drive the amp. -
I had 1Bs in a 7.0 system (no subwoofer)
The multichannel thing isn't a problem, but I was using a preamp/processor and real power amps.
The issue will be the Yammie receiver, and whether it can drive a 6-ohm (nominal) load with grace and enthusiasm. Their newer stuff uses an impedance-matching switch on the back panel, which is employed to strangle the power supply when used with "low" impedance (4-ohm) speakers. They need to strangle the power supply because it won't survive the FTC testing when connected to a "4-ohm" load.
The 6-ohm load of the 1C will be a better fit than the 4-ohm rating of my 1Bs
